The Cypress Bay West Community Development District is a local, special-purpose government entity authorized by Chapter 190 of the Florida Statutes as amended, and established on March 3, 2022 by the City Council of the City of Palm Bay, Brevard County, Florida Ordinance 2022-14, for the purpose of financing or acquiring, maintaining and operating a portion of the infrastructure necessary for community development within the District.
The Cypress Bay West CDD encompasses an area of approximately 453.79 acres entirely within the City of Palm Bay. The District is generally located south of Mara Loma Boulevard, west of Babcock Street Southeast, and north of Davis Lane. The District will finance, construct, acquire, operate, and maintain all or specific portions of the proposed public infrastructure.
A Community Development District (CDD) provides the 'solution' to Florida's need to provide valuable community infrastructure generated by growth, ultimately without overburdening other governments and their taxpaying residents. CDDs represent a major advancement in Florida's effort to manage its growth effectively and efficiently. This allows a community to establish higher construction standards, meanwhile providing a long-term solution to the operation and maintenance of the community's facilities.
